Sumit Rai is currently the MD & CEO of Edelweiss Life Insurance. Setting the strategic direction for the company, Sumit has nurtured a strong leadership team to build a multi-channel distribution network and a robust portfolio of offerings for its customers. A charismatic leader with an experience spanning over two and a half decades, he has mentored several cross-functional teams to enhance the organizational value and growth during his tenure so far.
Under Sumit’s leadership, Edelweiss Life has earned several industry recognitions, bolstered by the key mantras of customer centricity and innovation. Driven by his consistent belief in delivering value for every aspect of the business, the company has achieved rapid business growth, introduced exciting products and service innovations, and truly delivered on its promise of making #ZindagiUnlimited for its customers and employees. Before taking charge as the MD & CEO, Sumit served as the company’s Chief Distribution Officer for a brief period.
Previously, as a founder team member at Max Life, Sumit played a key role with the team that created one of India’s largest life insurance companies and handled multiple roles in distribution and strategy, including running and strengthening India’s largest non-captive, commercial bancassurance partnership.
He was also associated with Bank of America, and ABN Amro Bank in the past, wherein he was instrumental in strategizing and implementing various strategic initiatives for the respective companies.

Subhrajit Mukhopadhyay is currently the Executive Director of Edelweiss Life Insurance. A strategic thinker with an eye for innovation, Subhrajit has played an important role in the company’s growth story. In his previous role as the Chief & Appointed Actuary of the company, Subhrajit built robustness in the actuarial function and created a product innovation benchmark for the industry. With an interest in diverse subjects ranging from risk management to product management, he is passionate about the evolving digital space, analyzing customer behaviour and leading a high-performing team.
An industry veteran, Subhrajit has spent over 2.5 decades fulfilling various roles at companies like LIC and Exide Life Insurance.
Subhrajit is a qualified actuary and a Fellow of Institute of Actuaries of India.

Saba brings with her 24+ years of experience in HR and has handled additional business roles in Operations, Customer Service, Renewals & Persistency, Risk, and Marketing, providing her a holistic understanding of conceptualizing and implementing effective people interventions. Her expertise lies in building organizations through robust people practices, cultivating capabilities and culture to achieve organizational objectives, and creating an engaging workplace for our employees.
