Holds an educative workshop for students with MOHAN Foundation
In observance of Organ Donation Awareness Month in November, Edelweiss Life today conducted an educative workshop at IIM Ahmedabad to urge young students to step up in support of the cause. The workshop provided insights into the state of organ donation in India and emphasised on the significance of more people embracing this cause.
Commenting on the initiative, Abhishek Gupta, Chief Marketing Officer, Edelweiss Life Insurance, “The younger generation is more aware and they feel strongly about making a positive impact on the society. So, it is crucial that we speak to students and conduct informative workshops in educational institutions. Our hope is that these students proactively discuss this with their families and within their social circle, and subsequently take a positive action. While there are counsellors that can guide people through this process, it is important that we ourselves play that role early on.”
Edelweiss Life Insurance recently launched a #NoMoreWaiting campaign to inform, educate, and mobilise people’s support for organ donation. It has collaborated with Actor Rahul Bose, who has pledged his organs for donation, and MOHAN Foundation, an NGO actively working in this space.
The insurer plans on conducting such workshops across more educational institutions over the course of subsequent weeks.
As a part of this campaign, Edelweiss Life has also conducted a research titled ‘Life After Life: State of Organ Donation in India.’ Click here to read the findings.
